The New Hampshire Science Teachers’ Association is the professional science teaching organization for our state. Its purpose, as stated in its constitution, is to promote and improve science education in New Hampshire. NHSTA membership consists of all people interested in science education who have paid their regular membership dues. Dues are presently $20.00 per year. NHSTA is run by an elected Executive Board consisting of a president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer and at-large Board Member. The Board of Directors is appointed by the Executive Board and represents New Hampshire’s geographic regions and its various educational levels and disciplines. The Board meets monthly.

he NHSTA Fall Conference is for teachers of grades K - 12 and is called an Elementary-Middle-High School Science Conference. It will be held at Pinkerton Academy in Derry, NH, on Tuesday, November 4, 2008.

Free Weekly Science Puzzles from Cogno (New, 5/2/08)

DataStreme: Water in the Earth System (WES) Online, is a distance-learning course for teachers that incorporates inquiry-based instructional strategies and a holistic concept of Earth from oceanic, atmospheric and terrestrial water and problem-focused perspectives. This course will be offered in New Hampshire in the Fall '08 (September - December) semester.  Applications received by June 1, 2008 will receive the highest priority. The three group meetings will take place from 4 - 8 pm, on weekday evenings at Plymouth State University, at the beginning, middle and end of the semester. Tuition for the course is provided by the AMS and NSF, and all course materials are provided at no cost. Participants who successfully complete the course will earn three graduate credits from the State University of New York. (New, 5/2/08)

The following Constitutional Change was unanimously supported: Change article 3-section 4 from “The membership year of the Association shall be from October 1 Through September 30.” to “The membership year of the Association shall be a one year membership effective from the joining date to one year later.”
